What does the Padres line-up look like now?

I'm pretty fascinated with everything the Padres have done. Not sure it'll amount to much in the end, just pretty fascinating how much their team and starting lineup has changed, kind of like the A's but in a completely opposite direction.

After all the acquisitions and trades, what happens to Seth Smith and Solarte? Bench players?

I'm not completely up on the Padres, but looking at their roster, I'd say their line-up could look like this:

1. Alexi Amarista - SS

2. Derek Norris - C

3. Justin Upton - OF

4. Matt Kemp - OF

5. Wil Myers - OF

6. Will Middlebrooks - 3B

7. Jedd Gyorko - 2B

8. Yonder Alonso - 1B

If Seth Smith could play 1B, he could be an improvement over Alonso, otherwise he's on the bench or DH in AL games

David Ross and Yangervis Solarte also on the bench.

I'm not sold everyone would be healthy or even good for that matter, but it's definitely a more interesting lineup

That and Cashner, Ross, Kennedy, Despaigne, and Johnson in the rotation makes them more interesting and less boring to watch at least.

Does this lineup seem roughly what they got or am I overlooking someone?

This is the more important Padres lineup:

Team had the second best ERA in the league last year.  Yep, with these offensive changes they'll be legit in 2015.  But they have to get past the Giants and Dodgers, a pretty tall order...

I wouldn't be surprised if they shoved all their chips to the center of the table and acquired Troy Tulowitzki.  Imagine him, Kemp and Myers in the middle of your lineup for the next 5 years.

I wonder if they'll be willing to shell out money for an Upton extension or re-up him after this season is over or if they'll stick with their small-market ways and collect the draft pick compensation.
