Saw a picture and it's not an ISIS flag. But it looks Islamic. These groups usually don't take hostages and let them live. They might be better off rushing the gunman at once.

So Uber acknowledges the hostage situation as justification for the outrageous rates. Uber has been portraying themselves as a very arrogant/ignorant company. I've been using Lyft recently and it might stay that way.

To be fare they later offered free rides to anyone leaving that area.

It looks as if 5 hostages have escaped or been released from the cafe.

I was at that Lindt cafe a week ago and go there regularly when I'm in Sydney. It's just down the road from Sydney's main shopping areas and Christmas decorations so it was filled with families who were doing their Christmas shopping or taking in the festive cheer. It had such a happy vibe to it. So horrible to think about what's going on there.

It looks as if it's coming to an end. Loud noises and gunshots heard. Police performing CPR on people. Crazy.
