im with tdawg shane. Kemp (when healthy, in itself already a lulz) had one monster year and some good ones. Hes also had some very poor ones.

The main point being, his age and money arent worth the possibility he can get it back going forward.

Thats fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I feel he is fully recovered from his injuries now. He has a special bat and we all know offensive power is a game changer. Plus he is a face of the franchise guy that will butts in the seats, most importantly female butts.

  • The Blue Jays asked the Diamondbacks about both left-hander Wade Miley and outfielder Mark Trumbo earlier this winter, Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun reports.  Arizona, in turn, asked for some of the Jays’ young pitching in return.  Interestingly, the Jays didn’t plan on keeping Trumbo, but rather flipping him to the Mariners forMichael Saunders, a player Toronto landed anyway by dealing J.A. Happ to Seattle.

That would've felt a lot like the Napoli situation when the Blue Jays flipped him to the Rangers.

Ability to play major league caliber defense in the outfield:

Matt Kemp: LOL

Josh Hamilton: Yes

Ability to hit a baseball out of the infield:

Matt Kemp: .506 SLG

Hamilton: .414 SLG

Can't even believe I'm having to defend Matt Kemp in a comparison to Josh Hamilton.

He had ankle surgery before the 2014 season, I get that. That affects his ability to run both on the basepaths and in the outfield. Kemp absolutely took off in the 2nd half of last season once healthy and hit 17 HR and had a .971 OPS.
