Mark Wahlberg should not be pardoned

Recommended Posts

There is no spin that justifies a racist rage attack that leaves one victim unconscious and another blinded. There is no reason to issue a pardon, he was guilty of a heinous crime and regardless of how much remorse he feels today it is not restoring his victim's eyesight. Maybe instead of a request for a pardon he should track down the victims and offer substantial restitution for damages instead of looking for his own guilty conscious to be cleared by the state.

Come on guys as a famous person he's better than the rest of us and should be treated accordingly.

In all seriousness I met him maybe 5 years while working a press junket for a friend.  Obviously he was there to talk to reporters and didn't have much free time to talk to anyone else but on his way out he made it a point to say goodbye and thanks to all of us.  That said he seems to have a tendency to say dumb things (imagine that from someone in the public eye) like when he talked about if he had been on flight 93 things would have gone down differently and now this.  Both are instances were nothing should have been said publicly but like average Joe's some people in the public eye don't seem to have that filter.

that would have been tremendously more meaningful for everyone involved, and a pretty impressive lesson to kids about restitution as well as responsibility.

The Asisn guy who lost his eye forgave him. The black woman who got chased as a kid won't.

I'm glad Selma got snubbed.

Nothing in that story said any of his victims forgave him. A stupid school teacher that tagged along on the field trip that resulted in the black girl getting a facial scar from a rock thrown at her made excuses for Wahlberg. The teacher is white.
