This is hilarious.  How many times have I preached the Angels are fine on depth, but should chase quality over quantity?  And how many people disagreed with this simple logic.

 

In almost all cases, Quality > Quantity.  Pitching included. 

 

How many of those who disagreed with me will now suddenly be on board with this "no-duh" idea just because Dipoto said it?  

 

I'd be interested in knowing who has argued the opposite, as your post seems to imply. I don't think I know anyone here who thinks that.

 

And doesn't a "quality" pitcher add to the "quantity" of depth? The two aren't mutually exclusive you know. It's not like people feel as if getting two average pitchers > Jon Lester.

 

Also weren't you just advocating signing both Kris Medlan and Brendan Beachy?

Right here, and my stance isn't changing, especially with LeBlanc potentially leaving. Don't see why adding a guy on a minor league deal to stash in AAA is the end of the world, even more so if he doesn't take up a roster spot.
