My 7 year old wants a skateboard for Christmas and I am torn.

On one hand, I had one at his age. On the other hand, he is super uncoordinated (can't ride a bike yet)

He also wants an Xbox and that is a definite "no"

A little. I love him, but he is a chicken. Gets it from his Mom's side. Of course, they didn't have nearly as many broken bones or concussions as I did when I was a kid.

Personally I'd rather have my boy outside skateboarding with friends. Then inside being a vegetable on a xbox

Yeah, we don't let him play video games very often. The only electronics we let him at with on a frequent basis is his camera and iPad. He storyboards out movies (live action and stop motion) then shoots and edits them. Pretty rad. At least it's creative.
