Former Angel Wood sinks Texas in Spring Training opener

It's seems as if his situation with the Halos was the perfect storm of what didn't work for him

Monster minor league numbers

Very highly touted

Apparent significant swing deficiences that were easy for major league pitchers to exploit

Moving back and forth between the big club and the minors

Easy hitters parks in A and AAA

Constant attempts to 'fix' him

Probably a little fragile

hopefully the wounds will heal and he can forget about his time here.

He turns 28 in a few days so it's not totally out of the realm of possibility that he could be a productive major leaguer for a few years.  Wish him the best.

It will turn out he either has it or not. If he has it, it won't have been Hatcher's fault. It will be on the Angel's developement system. You can't wait until a guy is facing major league pitching to make major changes to his swing.

That  being said, I have no idea how receptive to change or instruction Brandon was coming up. This could have been, to a large part, on him.
