Frieri has a pretty good upside -- worth the gamble as a Spring Training Invitee and, perhaps, a minor league contract.

 

He pitched well for us for a period of about a year and a half when not much was expected.

 

 

He's worth a flyer -- hope he regains his form enough to stay in The Show.

I would have even been willing for the Angels to give him a look in camp, but only on a minor league deal with no guarantees. I believe that his issue is psychological. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with his arm, he's just not hitting his spots.

Guys, it's pretty much a guarantee that he'll save 40+ games and win Comeback Player of the Year next season. Nothing we can do about that, other than blame Butcher.
