You're hearing what you want to hear and I guess I am hearing what I want to here. No reasonable person could possibly conclude that all events such as this would be eliminated.

 

Also, if everybody having access to weapons is supposed to be a deterrent, why didn't somebody else take out their knife and stop this guy two victims in?
