2019: $19 million option or $6 million buy out

As bad as Amaro is, not even he would trade a pitcher still in his prime (only 31 in 2015) and still one of the better lefties in the league for a guy who looks almost finished.

W/L record (17-23 since 2013) is especially a moot point when the Phillies can't hit worth crap anymore to support Hamels (no one over .757 OPS in 2014).

His WARs are routinely in the 4.0s, 5.0s, and 6.0s.

Being reminded about how much Hamilton will makes gives me diarrhea.  What a complete waste......oh wait.....he only plays for his teammates.......who play better and have more production and get paid less.

If you tried this trade in MLB the show the CPU would still reject it, even after you turn on the force trades option.

The Phillies want a very good package for Hamels.  They aren't looking to just unload that contract. This is taken straight from MLB trade rumors chat:

 

"Philly asked the Cubs for Addison Russell and others. If you want Hamels, Philly is asking about names like Betts, Bogaerts, Swihart and Owens."
