Anxious to see how he advances this season, we need the depth in the upper minors.

Don't be too anxious AO. I was at the game and the Rafters were tagging hits to the warning track in center on a very cool evening.

I will say he wasn't helped much by a fatass first baseman from the Cubs that nabbed a grounder five steps from the bag and didn't bother making the play, dishing it to Smith late to the bag. He could have jogged to the bag and beat the runner but instead waited for Smith and was too late.

Add to that Cowart was doing his best Freese imitation dropping a foul pop up and not able to handle a short hop.

The Angels had four guys on the starting lineup including the DH role with Cal Towey. He had the best at bats of all of them but the Solar Sox just didn't mount any real threat all night.

For all of you bunt (scioscia) haters, the Rafters bunted runners to second and third and hit a sacrifice fly to left to score their only and winning run. Yeah, they gave up an out to move runners, the dumbasses. Cowart covered on the bunt and made a surprisingly great off balance throw to get the runner.

Player I was most impressed with was the catcher Spencer Kieboom. His squat was amazing. Really, he is six foot tall but gets low enough the umpire could see over him if he was lying on a chaise lounge. Not a lot of extra movement when he catches the ball so the umpire gets a clear look. Nothing got by him including a pitch nearly in the dirt were even getting position to block it he snaps off a throw from his knees to pick off a runner trying to steal second. Fat chance we can trade for him, he is in the Nats organization not the Rockies or Dbacks.
