Why are we constantly cauldling Albert Pujols? Platoon really? Why can't he play a full season at 1B? Cal Ripken Jr played 161 games at 3B at age 37. Seems like they have to constantly adjust the lineup around Albert.

Is it not enough that they had to clear the deck by moving Morales and Trumbo to accommodate Albert? Man up Pujols.

 

Cal Ripken was pretty shitty when he was 37 years old. The Orioles would've been much better had they given him some days off

Heck, if Pujols can put up a .900+ OPS as DH, I'd just assume play him half of the time as DH and half of the time at 1B.

Now the question is, can they get a LaRoche cheaply enough and have him platoon at both 1B and DH with Pujols?

 

Cron leaves a lot to be desired defensively at 1B.    Package him with someone, and get some starting pitching help.

-Get Brandon McCarthy or Jake Peavy to fill out the rotation.

-Sign Zach Duke or Joe Thatcher as the LOOGY.

-Sign Emilio Bonafacio or try to acquire Luis Valbuena to provide a solid bench piece.

-Sign Gavin Floyd to a minor league deal as pitching depth.
