I think you join a whole lot of people in the media that didn't see this coming as well. No big deal, Torrid, we all make predictions based on what we know and what we've seen in the past. Nothing about the Royals in the past said they would be this team in the playoffs or World Series. They have been gearing towards being a solid team, this just seems like a huge leap from just months ago.

They still have a. Long ways to go, but since the All Star break, they own the best record in baseball. They made a few tweaks to their lineup and they have been on a roll ever since.

Game 5 was expected.

 

Game 4 was the unexpected: the Royals pen pitching like the Halos pen did in April.

Special award to Brandon Finnegan for true suckage, what happened to the guy who pitched like a future star in limited innings before the WS?  

 

Parallels to 2002:  The Giants won WS games 1, 4, and 5 in both 2002 and 2014, dominated the 2nd half of game 4 and all of game 5 both times, and their ace has already pitched in his 2 regular starts.
