The shooter was taken away on a stretcher and had a nice little smirk on his face. I want to say that he probably won't have that same expression as they're leading him into the death chamber at San Quentin, but that could be 40 years from now given that this is California.

Horrible day for Law Enforcement...  That is unnerving that he was killed to the day of his father.

 

This is an example of why the job is so dangerous; you never know who you're dealing with.  The random-attacks on Officers promoted by ISIL/ISIS have Officers heads on a swivel everywhere.

 

Based on the article, I'm thinking they may have been a couple of "Sovereign Citizens."  Those folks seem to roll around looking to shoot Cops, and they allegedly found a handgun in the girlfriends' purse too.

Janelle Monroy is his wife, according to several reports.
