I'm not sure what the deal is in letting Boesch go for these guys. Was he arb eligible and they didn't want to pay him or something? Boesch hit the crap out of the ball in AAA and has experienced MLB success before. It's more than I can say for those two guys.

Whatever, chances are neither is on the 40-man by ST anyway.

The Angels would probably get the Version of Peavy that was terrible with Boston this season.

To be honest I'm surprised they DFA'd Boesch. A bit of a head scratcher as I don't think he would have cost the team more than about $1.2MM or so to retain one more year.

If he was out of options then I understand. Paying $1.2MM or so for a prime backup player isn't too much for a team like the Angels but the D'Back pickups make more sense to me now if Boesch was going to require a 25-man roster spot.
