Yea I don't believe that. That would imply that Scioscia is playing them because he is scared to sit them for some reason. I think he just has a blind trust in them. If he didn't think they could perform he wouldn't be scared to leave them home.

It's true that Scioscia writes the lineup card ... but these decisions are made as a group who includes his coaches and Dipoto.
