So who actually thinks Cowgill would be better?

The way the Angels as a team are hitting, I don't see Cowgill or Navarro being any more productive than Hamilton, and I think Hamilton is a better defender. So, what options are there to playing Hamilton?

Hamilton needs to sit. He's got deep issues that Baylor can't fix. I would go with Cowgill because he's at the very least coherent enough to play.

These young guys have always set their own tone. Calhoun hasn't followed the teams slumps and Navarro has been a bright spot on days the entire team offense was weak. I can see Navarro being the better choice offensively but Cowgill better defensively. Either one would be a better choice than Hamilton at this point. Although like I've stated before, doesn't matter if Navarro or Cowgill play and go 4-4. This team, especially 2-3-4 need to hit in order for us to get a win today.

As others have said, Cowgill could go 4-4, but if our 2-3-4 go 0-12 we're screwed.

 

There's the mysterious vanishing Trout, Ghost Pujols, and Howie "I coulda been a batting champ" Kendrick. If those guys show up, we'll win. If they don't, forget it.

The 10 game winning streak happened with Hammy out of the lineup. We need a 3 game streak to move on. Bench Hammy and play Navarro. If by some miracle this team moves on drop Hamilton from the 25 man and tell him to take the rest of the post season off. He is basically worthless at this point.

Well, considering we already know what Hamilton has done these first 2 games...Cowgill couldn't do any worse. So count me as one who thinks Cowgill would be a better option. I think the team would have been better off leaving Hamilton off the roster and putting Campana on as a pinch runner off the bench

 

Again though, Trout, Pujols, Kendrick have been awful and the other guys haven't been much better

I tend to think the Angels need to start Cowgill. If we somehow make it through KC then we will struggle to keep up with the O's offense without ALL of our hitters hitting, and that includes Josh.

IMO, Hamilton is not a good matchup for what Shields throws anyway.    I like the guy but there is something seriously wrong.  Why Scioscia refuses to acknowledge this is a mystery.
