this loss is in no way on jepsen. if the offense would do something he would have never been in this position. the guy throws certified heat- typically gets 2 quick outs, then allows a baserunner, then finishes off the inning. i'll take that from a reliever anytime. now that he's added a changeup, the guy has become even more effective. glad they have kept him around. deserves absolutely no heat for last nights loss.

It's true that other factors led to the loss as well. But every other pitcher pitched just fine last night for both teams. Why not Jepsen?

jmo, every reliever gets wacked. despite ALOT of use this bullpen has held up pretty well. surprizingly, to me, pitching hasn't been the problem.

Jepsen pitched just fine. He didn't pitch great. This game is on the crappy offense and not pinch hitting for Ianetta with someone who could bunt te runner over.

He had an August ERA of 2.84 in 14 appearences(4 earned runs) so he wasn't sucking and was used a lot. Can't always put up the zeros.  In Sept. One thing I noticed is that his numbers got worse as the team mailed it in after the division was wrapped up.  Coincidence?  .....I dunno maybe the pressure of last night but I just cannot pin it on him.

It is true that very few relievers escape harm almost totally in a season.

It's just frustrating to see Jepsen in about 3 weeks time go from Mr. Automatic for several months back to old Jepsen form, and do so at the most critical time.

out of necessity they used the crap out of the bullpen. i can't remember ever seeing a bullpen start/ complete games before.

these guys have done great.
