They always say great pitching wins playoff games, but if you look back the last 12 years, Great pitching only wins half of the world series.

The Angels have too many question marks with the starting pitching so it's not surprising. If we still had Richards and Shoemaker was healthy, I think you'd see a lot more for the Angels.

We have had a great year.  However, the fact is we have been over coming a lot with our injuries to our starting pitching.  I can see why we are not favored to win it.  That doesn't mean we can't win it.  This team has proven it can beat the best.  However, as much of an Angel fan as I am, I couldn't say we are favored.

Exactly. Looking at it objectively, it's tough to make a case for the Angels being the favorite right now. If Richards were healthy, CJ wasn't sucking, and Hamilton was 100% and producing, then I think you could make a strong case for the Angels.

 

But rarely does the team that looks like the favorite on paper going into the playoffs actually win the whole thing, so we'll see what happens!
