I believe it was 2008, we were 6-0 agains the Red Sox in the regular season? 

In 2009 we were 5-4 and swept them in the playoffs,and that's with the BOS "spectre" hanging over their heads.

Obviously, I hope the Angels win it all, but I think the odds are against them.  If Richards and Skaggs were here, it would be a different story.

Look I'm not saying the Angels don't stand a chance, or even that they don't stand a good chance. But the fact is, if they play Oakland they're going to have to face 3 very good SPs who they haven't hit particularly well off of. So chances are they're not going to score a ton of runs in the first 6,7,8 innings of those games. So that means a) our SP has to also be very good and we have to score off their BP. Those things can happen, but in a short series you never know. 

 

Bottom line, there's legitimate reason to be concerned facing the A's in a 5 game series. It doesn't make you a failo and it doesn't make you a pessimist.

Playoffs are a different animal. If Lester is on, you don't think Melvin leaves him in longer? instead of 6 or 7 innings, he goes 8 or 9. And they're not worried about tomorrow, they can go to anyone they like in their pen to get the most favorable match-up. Same with pinch-hitters.

Oh yeah I misread your post.

 

Its funny because the one year we have the best team and record in baseballl people arent being homers and picking teams like the A's of all teams to win it all.  I dont understand this board sometimes.
