#Angels have moved CJ Wilson from Sunday to Saturday. Seems likely he'll start Game 2 of ALDS. TBA for reg seas finale on Sunday.

 

Interesting if true. Could just mean Scioscia wants to start him at home, or could mean Shoe is out. If Shoe is in, then i'm surprised they're going with CJ over Santiago.

If Shoemaker is not available for the ALDS, I can definitely see Mike's thinking behind this one:

 

Home Starts: 15GS 9 - 2, 3.82 ERA 1.30 WHIP .250 BAA (36 BB in 94.1 IP)  6.1 IP per start average

Away Starts: 15 GS 4 - 8 5.62 ERA 1.65 WHIP .272 BAA (46 BB in 75.1 IP...Yikes!) 5 IP per start average

 

While Santiago gets game 3:

 

Home Starts: 12 GS 2 - 5 4.11 ERA 1.35 WHIP .245 BAA

Away Starts: 12 GS 4 - 4 3.52 ERA 1.36 WHIP .251 BAA

 

Numbers are about the same with maybe a little better luck on the road.

Even one day will make a difference in Shoemaker's rehab. He's being throwing long toss currently. I think management is hoping he'll be ready for game 3.

Also could mean Shoe could be available for games 4 or 5.

*in this case, fun might also mean truly sickening
