6 game road finale against familiar foes...

might be a blessing in disguise.

 

I think we've seen over the last several seasons that teams that were playing for their playoff lives have gone into the postseason much sharper and had success. (2011 Cardinals) 

 

A lot of teams finishing with the best overall record have had a chance to rest up and sometimes lose their edge going in. 

 

Obviously, the playoffs are a crapshoot and this team in fact does need the "downtime" to rest some key players, but I think it will be good for them to see two familiar antagonists and two teams that they could easily see in the DS.

Texas is on a crazy hot streak right now. Their bats have been dangerous.

 

But I think seeing Seattle and Oakland pitching will be important to keep the hitters sharp.
