I don't think Seattle can go 5-2.  If the other two tie where will the wild card game be held?  I think Kansas City would have to beat Lester, and that won't happen either.

KC holds tiebreaker over Oakland. Seattle holds tiebreaker over both Oakland and KC. 

 

If OAK ends in a tie for second wild card they play on the road in both game 163 and the wild card game.

If we have the best record in the AL do we face the wild card team regardless, or is MLB still enforcing the rule about teams from the same division not meeting in the Division Series?

best record always faces wild card. The rule about same division not meeting is gone.

With Seattle getting handled by Toronto tonight it does not look good for 5-2.  So likely wild card pairing will be KC and Oakland. I like the idea of Oakland traveling to KC for the wild card and then the winner gets on a plane to get to Anaheim.
