Explosion averted! Sox broadcast saying it's a bicep strain and that he'll be ok. If that is the case, that's a huge break for Lackey. His reaction made it seem like it was a lot more severe

not a Lackey fan by any means -- but I don't like to see this happen to anyone.

 

looks like he may be done for the season, at a minimum.

 

as for the nasty remarks towards Lackey related to his domestic situation - while it looks just terrible on the surface, there could be other reasons for this -- possibly cancer treatments not being covered by insurance......older folks facing end of life care of astronomical costs sometimes divorce in order to maintain assets for the surviving spouse.

 

Not a Lackey fan at all, but willing to give him the possibility of something other than just being callous on this -- and now his own playing career appears to be in jeopardy.

I like the guy ... especially when he played for the Angels. He was a clubhouse leader for the pitching staff ... Weaver said he was a great mentor for him. I don't like commenting on other peoples personal lives ... it's none of my business. I've learned in life that there's always two sides to every story.

 

I never took his comments personally when he left. I wish him the best.

and the part of him throwing and then the arm sort of going limp isn't something that's easily 'orchestrated'

 

the injury looked real.

 

well, good for Lackey it's not that serious.

 

now we can all root for him to go 5-20 with a 5.78 ERA this season.

I don't know the guy at all.

 

I know he was 102-71 with the Angels and was the winning pitcher in Game 7 of the World Series.  The only World Series title in franchise history.

1. I highly doubt they have insurance that doesn't cover her treatments

2. Even if that were so, he's going to make about what, $90 million over his career. Not really a problem.
