Yesterday's game = Playoff blueprint

Our team is going to face so many good pitchers this postseason, but yesterday's game was an absolute clear-cut blueprint for execution on winning in these playoffs.

 

• CJ coming in and keeping the team in the game, regardless of how unstoppable the other pitcher looked
• Our hitters, even when they can't get hits, working the count and battling
• Even if the best players can't get a hit, the middle and latter parts of the line-up get big hits
• Bullpen with the cold, shutdown innings

 

It won't always work out this perfectly - I don't expect our starters to always throw up zeroes, (and at the same time, I don't expect Trout and Pujols to be hitless) but how the team stuck with it and got to the starter late was textbook.

 

Awesome game.
