Is Hanson's normal velocity in the high 80's? Or is that down from earlier in career?

 

It might be his normal velocity NOW, but it certainly wasn't before. He used to pitch in the 92-94 mph range, but that was around 3 years ago

 

AT this point, he's likely 88-90 mph on his fastball. He still has his great slider and curve, though. Those will continue to be plus pitches for him

Ya, I still have my concerns about him(particularly his health, because that delivery hurts just to watch), but I'm more optimistic now that he can be acceptable with his fastball if he can locate it and continue to use those offspeed pitches well.

 

It will be interesting to follow for sure.
