Shoe in the post game was laughing it off as just discomfort. I doubt it is anything that will prevent his regular prep for the next start.

At this point, I'm pretty much saying, "whatever."  Of course the Angels have to have another (two?) injuries.  I'm not going to fret over it like I did with Richards.  

 

This team has responded brilliantly to every challenge this season.  Seems that whatever is thrown at them, they respond with an even stronger performance.  

 

So, f you, disabled list.  I don't know if the Angels will win the World Series or not.  What I do know is that the Angels' best pitcher is out until next season and the Angels are in the playoffs.

I'm referring to the fact that he has no clue what Shoemaker is going through. He can speculate, which is what he's doing, and it's really no different than any of us freaking out on the forum over whatever Shoemaker's ailment is. Just don't see why Langston being "concerned" would worry anyone

Fair enough, it's definitely all just speculation at this point. But I'll put more stock in a former pitcher's speculation than a random talking head or reporter.

Scioscia sounds pretty subdued as he's talking about it postgame.

 

He also corrected a reporter who said the Angels made the playoffs. "Playoffs?! We didn't make the playoffs yet. We need to win the division."

 

I would agree with him on that.

This is bad news either way. That said, based on some of the post game, it still has the potential to not be that huge of a deal

The timing sucks because playoffs are here...that said, the timing isnt horrible because weve clinched a spot, and are about to clinch the div. A few weeks off might be fine.

Shoemaker had 95 pitches through 7.2 innings...hardly laboring. They have a Ramus/BP game coming up and Scioscia needs to have his top guys rested and available. The smart move is he comes out for the 8th.
