WTF is with Alejandro DeAza?

He sucked with the ChiSox (.660s OPS), but suddenly has a 1.000+ OPS in his first 41 at bats for the O's?

41 at bats, that's what is up with him. Hamilton had an OPS of 1.280 for all of 38 plate appearances to start the year.

Jacob deGrom has 12 k's in 5 innings.  He struck out the first 8 batters of the game, until Jarred Cosart got a hit

DeGrom has been lights out recently, one of the reasons the Mets have not been the Mess for the past month.

In fact over his past 74 2/3 innings, he has an ERA of around 1.80.

He looked as if he might hit 100 home runs and drive in 300 when he went down with the torn thumb.

 

When he returned he couldn't identify a hittable pitch to save his life.

Indians, Jays, and Skanks are just barely holding on in the 2nd WC spot race behind KC and Seattle.

The A'ths are just about home free for the WC game HFA, with their easier schedule.

It looks like KC and Seattle for the 2nd WC spot, unless Detroit craps the couch in KC this weekend, and Seattle has a much more difficult schedule.
