Run differential is a false stat, it depends on how many cupcakes you play.  Lately we've had more than our share of cupcakes.  We'll see how fat we've gotten when we get to the playoffs.

The final 2 weeks for the season will see some testing though, 10 out of 13 vs the M's and A'ths.

They won't be going into the post-season having not been tested recently.

We used to think that the last weeks of the schedule didn't favor us. 

 

Now that we all but have the division wrapped up, I see these last games against the Ms and As as a good thing, a good test to keep the team sharp before the ALDS.

 

Last thing we want is the team to lose their hunger before the playoffs, similar to how the Tigers basically went to sleep in the days waiting for the WS to start in 2012, while SF was being battle tested through 7 games against the Cards.

If only there were a hundred years of data we could collect from to figure out if maximizing your own offense and limiting your opponent's could be correlated to winning . . .
