Another crazy stat.  Not long ago Oakland had a run differential 50 runs better than the second best team in MLB.  Now Oakland is +160 and the Angels are +147.  With this offensive outburst they have padded their run differential by almost 40 runs.  Crazy.

That's what happens when you start getting your ass kicked on a daily basis.

And that 787 would lead the league.  Obviously, offense around the league is down.  In terms of run differential, the biggest gain has been a result of playing two stiffs (MINN, TEX) that we've piled on once the BP has been summoned.  OAK's run diff hasn't changed much since they've been losing a lot of 1-run games lately.  With games against OAK, SEA, and HOU, you probably won't see such a dramatic shift but we may catch up with OAK in run diff by the end of the season.

I just did a search, but wasn't able to find it. Someone bumped the thread about a month ago. At that time, the Angels run total was on pace for a lot less than most people predicted (I think around 720). For those curious, this is the run prediction thread for the crummy 2013 season.

They only need to average 4 runs a game to reach it.

Yep, Oakland was 50 runs clear of everyone for a long time.
