The A's aren't going 17-3, even with their absolute cupcake schedule. The only way this happens is if the Angels absolutely collapse, and I just don't see that happening now.

When they added all that talent at the deadline they added a ton of expectations.  They went from being the little engine that could to the team favored to win it all.  It became WS or bust.   Oakland had gone 7-3 in the ten games directly before the Addison Russell trade, at which point they stood 54-33.   They went 12-8 in the games between between July 5th (1st trade), and "Lestergeddon" (2nd trade) on July 3oth at which point they were 66-41.   Since then they have gone 14-21.
