"What Perry proved is that he and his camp don’t have the emotional or political maturity to handle a twitter account, let alone a state."

Isn't Texas doing well at this time?

Depends on what your measuring. This idea propagated by the repcons that Texas is the shining example of a state in great fiscal health has been proven completely false. It was also ranked dead last in health care. A couple of other stats - 50th in high school graduation rate, 47th in SAT scores, first in amount of carbon emissions, first in hazardous waste produced, last in voter turnout, first in percentage of people without health insurance, second in percentage of uninsured kids, and 49th in the nation for pregnant women receiving prenatal care.

Not as great as they make it seem.

Economy of Texas:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Texas

The economy of Texas is one of the largest and most rapidly growing economies in the United States. As of 2013, Texas is home to six of the top 50 companies on the Fortune 500 list and 51 overall, (third most after New York and California).[10] In 2012, Texas grossed more than $264.7 billion a year in exports—more than exports of California ($161.9 billion) and New York ($81.4 billion) combined.[11][12][13] As a sovereign country (in 2012), Texas would be the 14th largest economy in the world by GDP (ahead of South Korea and the Netherlands).[14]
