Angels set franchise record!

I was looking on baseball reference and noticed that Vinnie Pestano became the 30th different pitcher used by the club this year. That breaks the record 0f 29 by the 1996 club which also gave up an incredible team record 943 runs!

 

As of now, they've used 50 different players with the franchise record 52 also by the 1996 club. Since some of the call ups haven't appeared in an Angels' uniform yet, that record will probably go down as well.

 

One thing you can see this season. Maybe it's because he's in the last year of his contract and he was put in a must win situation, or maybe not, but Dipoto has definitely given most of the bench players and call ups a very short leash. Either get the job done, or you're out of here. He's got an outright pen, a waiver wire and a DFA and he's not afraid to use them.
