Melvin: "They should be embarrassed."

I am ecstatic that our team swept the A's. It is very satisfying to be up by 5 games. The Angels can't get complacent, however. The A's are a very good team, and can't be taken lightly. As to Kazmir, to be fair, that was not good or consistent umpiring today behind the plate. I am glad that our team capitalized on the situation, but Jerry Davis did a terrible job behind the plate today. Sosh would have had a similar reaction - considering that he is known to bark at plate umpires quite often.

Kazmir wasn't getting the inside corner call on right handed hitters. Any other game this season and that pitch is called a strike. For some reason, Gerry Davis didn't feel it was getting enough of the plate yesterday. At least he was consistent, though. Still, if I'm Kazmir I'd be pissed...he didn't pitch as bad as the box score implies. Not making excuses for Kazmir or the A's, as I think we still would've been victorious yesterday, but I look forward to the day when dudes in over-sized grey trousers are no longer calling balls and strikes.

they weren't strikes. since those pitches we're being called balls all day he should have known that was going to be the case and stopped acting like a little girl. I swear I thought he was actually going to start crying on the mound.

And, with all due respect, it does sound like you're making excuses for him

Those are good points. The A's could go on a streak, they've done it before. And the home plate umpiring for the series was consistently bad.
