It's not jacking up the 40 man roster if you bring up Roth and send down Herrera. If our 40 man roster can't afford to lose Herrera then we are in a ton of trouble.

Yes it will, because Roth can eat the innings after Rasmus gets blown up, thus saving our pen for tomorrow. Without Roth we have no long man in the pen, so basically everyone will be throwing an inning or two.

I don't get all the fuss about Santiago earlier in the thread. They're not talking about him pitching half a game, they're talking about him throwing one inning. That's not going to impact his next start, it's what he would have done anyway...just with actual hitters standing at the plate.

 

Yeah, we should be bringing up Roth for Herrera, but apart from that I'm fine with this decision.
