The Arizona Fall League announced its preliminary rosters for the 2014 season on Tuesday, and, for the second year in a row, the game's top prospect, Byron Buxton, is among myriad up-and-coming stars heading to the desert for some extra seasoning.

Interesting to see Cowart there.  He was in the AFL last year and generally there aren't a ton of repeat players, though it isn't completely unheard of.  It's been said that if he didn't turn it around to finish the season this year, the Angels were going to move him to the mound.  He's listed as an infielder and it's doubtful the AFL will use him as a RP when he needs to get into pitching shape first and there are RP's from other systems that need to get their work in.
