Rangers' Choo done for season

Recommended Posts

A terrible year: .242/.340/.374 with a -0.2 fWAR. Next year he'll be 32, which is that magical age when players often start tanking. Best of all? The Rangers owe him $116 million over the next six years, so he'll be outlasting Hamilton and keeping Pujols company for most of the rest of his contract.

Of course the Rangers also have Prince Fielder under contract for six more years, owing him $114 million (after the $30 million the Tigers will pay) - so that's $230 million total in albatross contracts over the next six years, compared to the Angels' $278 million owed to Hamilton and Pujols. That's half a billion dollars owed to the four bozos.

The Rangers' two big splashes of the offseason were total and complete belly flops.

You forgot the $140+ million owed to Elvis "Aybar with a bat" Andrus.

texas will still be stacked next year, and now they are gonna have an insane draft pick.

Stacked?   With question marks maybe.   They have a lot of things to work on this offseason, easily one of the more interesting teams to follow this winter IMO.
