Ex frames husband with child porn

Woods' attorney had argued the time stamps were unreliable.

Hah, what an idiot.

Well in theory it would be easy enough to edit a file's attributes and change the time to incriminate someone. So in a legal sense you could argue that it could be considered unreliable given certain circumstances. Though a decent computer forensics expert could likely find the signs of tampering. Tougher part is proving that her computer in her house had been such compromised. She would have to prove that she herself had been framed. And quite likely there were numerous other giveaways that she had been the one to search for and download the material.

Tom your router keeps track of every place you go. The file download itself is only part of the tracking.

Eh, home router tables aren't going to last very long and ISP user tracking isn't uniform. Simply too much data to store. (Otherwise dealing with online piracy would be a relatively trivial matter) Especially if you aren't labeled a heavy user or received previously complaints such as from the RIAA. And US courts have ruled on occasion that IP addresses are not enough on their own to establish user identity. It's of possible use to law enforcement but probably not necessary. Browser histories though would be a dead give away if she wasn't savvy enough to clear it.

Here is a good article on how someone was able to determine that file's timestamp had previously been forged on a Windows NTFS system, quite probably the same file system as in this case.

Only I know the IP address, username and password to the router.

I do like to mess with neighbors that don't secure their wifi.

I'm going to guess it's the same as your default gateway on your home computer?

Speak about security through obscurity lol

But yeah since routers memory only is only measured in MegaBytes, usually in the single or low double digits, router logs aren't going to be very telling. Unless you are super paranoid and send the logs to a central logger assuming your typical POS home router can even do that.

One of my best friends in college is an attorney in Oklahoma City. He said that several times men have told him that their ex or estranged wife had begun accusing them of molesting the kids. He said that his first question in that scenario is how far behind they are on paying child support. Apparently this is a common tactic to apply pressure outside of the court system.

My biggest takeaway from this thread:  Thomas knows all the ins and outs of how you can and can't hide child porn surfing history.

Well I suppose I don't have to guess the content of the message subject "SSssh, don't tell anyone" you just sent me.
