'Slumping' Trout still #1 in AL in many offensive stats

Recommended Posts

I was surprised to learn that Babe Ruth led the AL in strikeouts only four times in his career.

I always assumed it was more.

An out is an out so whether it's a K or pop up it doesn't really matter. It just seems that Trout's Ks come at the worst possible times (runner on 3rd).

Is he still the most clutch player in the AL?

Yes, but only just barely. Salvador Perez is hot on his heels. That said, Trout is a better overall player than Perez so if you look at win probability added nobody is even close.

One of my favorite stats. I'm surprised he didn't lead in that category last season with 6.8. I guess Cabrera must have been higher?
