Freese has been  hitting much better of late. Since his bad start, he's been over 300. The only thing is he's been slipping up with errors lately, specifically throwing errors. I like freese. He made bad throw, oh well.

At the end of the day...we battled against arguably the best pitcher on the planet..if the D was in point we would have won..time to head home and see shoe dominate!

I don't believe that is true, but I am too lazy to do the research. It's almost 2am out here. Unless I am crazy, I though he had been there a month or so ago. Anyways who would play 3b on our roster that would be better and maintain .251 batting average?

 

His highest average this year was .257, on July 9th.

May as well, Freese isn't doing much of anything at the plate, and he is not nearly the defender that McDonald is.

Yeah but John McDonald wishes he could hit as good as Jeff Mathis.

I still don't get how Freese is at fault.  I am amazed he was able to bare hand the ball and make a catchable throw.  IMO, it's on CI for not catching it.  Freese is at fault for his error on a routine play on the ball that Kemp hit.

btw, his ops since the break is .672 and for the season its .669.

I think that's the annoying part about it.  We went into that game with very little opportunity.  We were right there at the end and pissed it away.

Freese & Iannetta teamed up to give the dogs 2 runs.  Why wasn't McDonald in there?

 

And, hitting Hamilton cleanup against the best LHP in baseball...truly remarkable lineup mgmt Scioscia.  

 

Pujols has hit 21HR and GIDP 20 times (2nd in MLB).  

 

Kudos to Santiago...he recovered from the HR and kept them in it with some grit.

In the end Jepsen shouldn't have had runners at 1st and 3rd with one out in the bottom of the 9th. He pitched poorly.

Lucho is hitting .295 with 19 HRs in Salt Lake.    I think this would translate to about what Freese is providing offensively in the big leagues plus better defense.

That is more HR power than Lucho has shown in past minor league seasons.

 

And yes Jepsen contributed to the loss by allowing two hits, hopefully just a small hiccup on his part.

Did I say I'm sick and tired of Juan Uribe?   What is his career BA against the Halos?   .350? 

Edit: He's 39 for 162 lifetime vs the Halos in the regular season (a little under .250 BA).

 

It sure seems like he's done more damage.

Dodgers took their sweet time signing Uribe. It was discussed here but most were against it. It would of been sweet to see Uribe and Aybar playing side by side this season.

Btw Freese made a exceptional bared handed play in the ninth. Throw was on the money too.
