How damning is it for Joe Thatcher

I'm thinking that Thatcher isn't long for this team.

His pitching compared to the rest of the pen is like comparing Frieri to Street.

When Wilson returns, Thatcher very well could be on his way out.

Shows how overrated we had Borenstein?

Waiver wire deal to get a REAL lefty reliever, who can actually pitch inside to lefties?

In my opinion, there is no way that a REAL lefty reliever would make his way to us on te waiver wire.

We're probably going to have to make a couple of roster moves in the next couple of days. When Wilson starts I'd guess he'll replace Shuck but I also think they'll try to bring up a reliever who can give them a couple of innings (probably Salas, unfortunately) in the next couple of days if need be, with Santiago and Rasmus probably unavailable tomorrow and Hector potentially staying in the rotation for another start or more because of the Skaggs issue. It's extremely unlikely, although not impossible, Thatcher becomes the odd one out. Who'd you rather take off the roster right now, Rasmus or Thatcher?

Santiago was the right call especially since he will probably start in Skaggs spot in four days.

I agree it was the right call. My point is it SHOULDN'T be. The starter out of the 'pen thing should be what you turn to when all your available relievers are done. If we don't have enough faith in Thatcher for that, why is he here?

as a lefty specialist, meaning one hitter at a time usually. i'm just answering the question. he's got a long history of success, so i'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. i hope he gets back on track.
