Any Cyclists?

Mountain biking at night seems to be a new(?) thing that became more popular with the latest LED headlights.  Looks like fun.

Fun and scary. The trails you have ridden tons of times sure look a lot different at night. Especially with all of the Mountain Lions looking to pick off the slow guy.

Any mountain bike pros here? I'm thinking of getting into it since I'll have time in retirement.

I have an ancient (1995) GT that I used to ride on trails. It's not only obsolete it's pretty worn out.

Looking on craigslist for a used bike from this century. Carbon frame, not sure about wheel size I'm thinking 27.5". Trying to keep it under $3000.

What do you think of this one: https://boise.craigslist.org/bik/d/nampa-2016-santa-cruz-5010-cc-xx1/7501199795.html

We bought two pretty good mountain bikes on Craigslist for $90 each a couple years back. Rode them a few times. Then my wife got pregnant. Then she got pregnant again.

They've been sitting in the back of our garage for two years.

At least you only spent $90 each.

Some people buy really expensive bikes and then end up selling them on craigslist a year later.

I'd do what I did. I found some dude on Craigslist selling a great bike for cheap. I then took it to a place here in OC and did the entire setup....fitment, any changes (namely the seat), and ultimately made it "my own" with the help of the shop. Everything probably ended up being less than a grand. My main thing was getting a bike with that quick tire change/removal so it's a snap to get in and out of the car. I think there is a name for it, but it's worth checking out for simplicity and ease.
