They're supposed to resume trading at 12:15 our time. Still no explanation of the cause, other than "technical problems".

then again, it's proven that hacking will only get you 2 months in jail.  So why not do it.

Stocks are surging today on China's little "rebound" last night. Their market, which had been down 30-40% recently, had a modest jump.

 

It's all about euphoria now. The next bit of bad news will drive it back down.

I dumped my GOOGL stock a few months ago after they missed for like the 3rd quarter in a row.  Figures they would beat once and then the stock goes through the roof.

 

You would figure a company with that much money would have a dividend but no.

It's the same with AAPL when everyone was clamoring for dividends with all of their extra cash lying around. I own AAPL stock as well, and am a little wary of their earnings next week.

Either way, I can't complain too much about a 16% pop from Google. As Ice Cube so eloquently puts it, "today was a good day."

AAPL 4th quarter outlook disappoints, and shares are down 10% after hours.

 

IBM and United Technologies also report less than stellar earnings.

I think they are overthinking it.  Smartwatches are great.  But you don't need a full smartphone/computer on your wrist.

So what's up with China?  It's got to affect the world economy at some point right?  

 

With talk of real estate overvalued.  This is beginning to remind me of the Japan invasion of the 80's and subsequent crash of the real estate market.

at this point they basically use a retail website site to fund their cloud business.

China's market is down 4% tonight on top of a stomach churning 8.5% drop yesterday.

 

Very bad economic signs coming from there, too. Not just a stock bubble.

Yeah china has been a sh*t storm for a few years, it was all individual investors buying on margin.

Total tulip bubble out there. 

Nothing supported that market.

And now it's crashing down.

I don't usually invest in companies hoping they will be acquired but in the case of TWTR it might be something to think about.

So, yesterday the market was euphoric that a Greek deal was in the works and on news that Buffett bought a company.

 

Today, the market is plunging on news that China devalued its currency. Oil is way down too. The dollar is suddenly stronger and that's bad all around.

 

Crazy world.

A buddy at work was saying the other day that the market is looking like it did pre recession, as in its about to take a dump again. Is that acxurate?
