Red Sox are considering Kemp for Lester, why not offer Hamilton for Lester?

Matt Kemp has been worth -1.1 WAR this season. Only 2 NL position players have been worth less: Domonic Brown (-1.5), Jedd Gyorko (-1.3).

Were you asking which one was better or which one might have greater value to the Red Sox?   I gave you reasons why the Sox might prefer Kemp to Hamilton, I personally think the guy is done and if I were the Sox, I'd want no part of either of them.

There is no chance that anyone would take Josh in trade.  There is also no chance that Josh would agree to go from a team with the second best record to a team likely out of the playoff hunt.

He's ours

Pretty much.  The way his contract was structured it only had value to the Angels and their need to stay under the luxury cap in the early years of the contract.

Kemp is a RH, so the Green Monster would be his friend. He's also a smaller hit on the luxury tax. No clue why the Sox would want either of them to be honest.

Yeah, I dont see why boston would be interested in kemp. I think people still overhype him.

Take away his 2011 (when he was a beast), and then to be fair take away his 2010 (when he was pretty bad). Agter that you have a solid player (sans injuries), but nowhere near worthy of the praise people have for him.
