Red Sox are considering Kemp for Lester, why not offer Hamilton for Lester?

Kemp is 29 (he'll be 30 in sept.) and Hamilton is 33. There's still hope that if Kemp can remain relatively healthy, he'll bounce back to be pretty good. If the Red Sox traded for Kemp, the Dodgers would eat the majority of Kemp's contract. The Red Sox would still have a good chance of signing Lester in the offseason.

Who has more value Kemp or Hamilton? If the Angels could get Lester and get rid of that contract or most of it they should do it.

Kemp is a RH, so the Green Monster would be his friend.  He's also a smaller hit on the luxury tax.   No clue why the Sox would want either of them to be honest.

This is the main caveat for any team who trades for Lester - and precisely why I don't believe that the Red Sox can ask for a bunch in return. Chances are he's going back to Boston as soon as the contract runs out.

Matt Kemp has been worth -1.1 WAR this season. Only 2 NL position players have been worth less: Domonic Brown (-1.5), Jedd Gyorko (-1.3).

Not just stuck with him, but stuck with him hitting fourth......

Nothing like having a hole in the MOTO to increase the difficulty level of scoring runs.

Wells had a full no-trads also, it means nothing. Hamilton has a ego and would love playing on ESPN's favorite team. He hardly gets talked about on the Angels.
