Recently he was brought to Congress to answer for some shady shit he does on his show.  Mostly presenting supplements, etc on his show that use pseudo science that he hasn't researched or as a doctor actually have no real benefits but he presents them like they do.  Some of which are dangerous.  Basically he got exposed as a fraud that just sells whatever companies want him to for the right price.

 

And now he had some Anti GMO nut job on his show that recently called for his followers to murder journalists that support GMOs.  http://io9.com/anti-gmo-activist-mike-adams-featured-recently-on-dr-1610300299

 

Pretty sad that this dude stays on air.  Plenty of mindless idiots actually listen to what he says.

I wonder how much more costly US healthcare has become due to people following the advice of Dr. Oz or Kevin Trudeau? 

 

We know a lady who, after watching one of these shows, decided to stop taking her prescription medicine to prevent strokes.  She had a massive stroke less than a week later and several more since then.  For the last two or three years, all of her time has been spent in the hospital or nursing/rehab homes. 

 

My house insurance plan explicitly states they won't pay if I intentionally burn down my own house.  The same type of logic needs to be applied to health insurance.

Pretty sad that this dude stays on air.  Plenty of mindless idiots actually listen to what he says.

 

Stick "Doctor" in front of a a person's name and some people automatically believe everything that person says - never stopping to think that there might be a profit motive in what is being presented. There is "Dr. Phil", the master of stating the obvious. Then there is the special case of Dr. Laura, who has a doctorate in a field totally unrelated to what she spews forth on the airwaves (her degree is in physiology).

 

Love the picture with Oprah, in which Dr. Oz wears scrubs to imply that he actually does real work as a physician.

The question I have is why so many women buy into whatever Dr. ________ tells them. 

 

All the women in my family do this.  A number of my female friends do this.  And whenever you watch the TV shows, the audiences seems to be 90% women.  I don't get it.

that's because he always tapes his shows right after he finishes his rounds at the ER/clinic/pediatric center/bariatric surgery center/cancer center/dermatology clinic/foot clinic.

 

or am i the only who thought that was obvious.
