that we had an important run on second base with no outs late in the game and Scioscia chooses to not bunt him over. Last time it could have been the game winning run (lost in 12 innings) and this time the game tying run. In fact both times it was Freese up and he struck out looking while Navarro was on deck.

For a team struggling to find runs at the moment why does he not go back to the small ball that made him famous as a manager...

Edit: and now it happened a third time lol

I agree with the OP. If you're playing for one run, MS should bunt with 0 outs runner on 2nd. If you have a lefty hitting, I understand because a ground ball to the right side would get the job done. But not with Mr. Freeeze.

It's this true? I'd imagine your odds of scoring at least one run are higher with a man on second with no out than with a man on this and one out. There has to be data for this.

Aside from this, one run would be huge there but the babe doesn't end with one run. Two would be nice.

Remember when Scioscia was chastised to no end for giving away outs via sacrifice bunts?

Good times

Beat me to the punch

Im actually for bunting. But usually on here people are against it

Some day trout will try and steal a base, get thrown out, and we'll kick a hole in our drywall because of sosh's stupid ass sending him
