Starters - Who is out there? Cost?

Recommended Posts

Anyone have a resource to see what starters are "out there" and worthy of consideration? Furthermore, can we even AFFORD, cash/otherwise another starter? I can't see us being able to do anything else without touching the 25 man roster and frankly, I don't think I wanna mess with the chemistry.

Nope. He's not playing anywhere yet. Hasn't pitched since 2012. He's done, I bet.

I know he missed all of 2013 but I thought he was supposed to be back by the 2nd half. I guess even if he did make it back he wouldn't be ready to pitch at MLB level until next year

they are only 7.5 back in a fairly weak division.  I could see them making a run.

Yeah, they're not gonna trade Lester, at least, as of now.

If they have a really crappy week, that might change, but they started the week by pounding the Blue Jays 14-1.

Shoemaker wound have been fine last night, if the Halos didn't have a bad night with RISP and he didn't groove that first inning pitch to Jones.

Meantime, the O's only stranded some three baserunners.

Between them, Shoemaker, Skaggs, and Santiago can be 4-5 in the rotation.

They would only be needed collectively for one start per each post-season series.

What about that second pitch he grooved to Jones?

Both the Red Sox and Rays can definately still take that division.

No other AL East team, besides the O's, can truly be expected to finish much over .500.

And the O's aren't a sure thing either.

They have two lights out back end pen guys in Britton and O'Day, but not much depth there.

The rotation has no true aces, just a bunch of decent guys.

Their lineup is solid 1-5, but struggles some below that.

Should Cleveland fall out Justin Masterson is worth a look. He's not having that great of a year, but the potential for him to be a solid #2 is there. His infield defense this year is pretty bad Lonnie Chisenhall/Carlos Santana at third is terrible and Asdrubal and Kipnis are below average at SS and 2b. He could do much better with our infield defense seeing as he's a sinkerballer
