Orange County Register: Angels shoot down Rodney, Seattle

Recommended Posts

Janis needs to get her facts straight.  Calhoun didn't "pop out" to end the eighth, he hit it to the warning track in center field.  And Pujols and Trout didn't point their arrows into the sky.  LOL, everyone has a little different version of what happened I guess.

My e-mail to the writer Janis Carr:

Were you at the game?

"After getting Kole Calhoun to pop up to end the eighth, Seattle reliever Fernando Rodney turned and shot an invisible bow-and-arrow to the sky. The former Angels pitcher has done his celebratory move for years in the ninth inning."

Calhoun flew out deep to CF. A pop up is usually handled by the infield. The Seattle player retreated to the warning track.

Secondly, Rodney usually turns his back to home plate - and shoots towards the outfield scoreboard. or that area. Sunday - he - now if you watch the replay - turned towards the third base dugout...the one occupied by the Angels, and shoots. BIG FREAKING DIFFERENCE.

More mistakes by you:

"Trailing 5-4, Mike Trout walked and then raced home on Albert Pujols’ hit-and-run double to right field to tie the score. As soon as he crossed home plate, Trout turned and shot an arrow into the sky a la Rodney.

Pujols did the same while standing on second. Both Angels players said it was all in fun."

Whoops! Just watch the replay...Trout - now follow - looks directly at 2nd base (the base Albert is standing on) and "shoots" at him.

Albert - returns fire towards Trout's direction...NO WHERE NEAR THE SKY (unless you're an ant)

Lastly Janis - Fans have been booing Fernando for years. I booed him lustfully when he was in an Angels uniform. HE SUCKED!

Just trying to help you out...but your article is wrong on several areas. Good luck in future writings.

your tone was probably out of line considering you've had no exchange with her previously. the "now follow" part was talking to her like she was stupid rather than misinformed.

"misinformed" means you receive incorrect information from a third party.

"stupid" means that you are a sports writer - as a career - and just wrote down guesswork.

Sort of like that sports gal on Channel 11 - who called Drew Doughty - BRAD DOTY...and Anze Kopitar - Andre Kopador.

Know your sh!t or get a new job...
