What happened to the offense?

It's mind-boggling that Felix pitched a great game. It's so unlike him

Cy Felix?

That said, it is a bit frustrating to see the offense come to a screeching halt after the last two weeks or so before the ASB.

The team started winning at an outrageous clip when ibanez was released and Cron started playing regularly. Cron sent to AAA upset the balance a bit. Love Mac but Aybar is a much better hitter as well. Maybe those two would have helped. Plus our lefty specialist just had a bad game. Aside from that first double nothing was hit hard in that last inning. It's just a funny game

In his last ten games he was batting .200.  Yes, getting rid of Ibanez was a good move but the team wasn't winning just because of Cron.

You need to move runners and score on outs against tough pitchers. Angels are lacking in this area.

Exactly. Pujols is back to his old habit of grounding weakly to the left side with a runner on second.

And then there's the stupid contact play which erased the go-ahead run late in the game.

FS, you do realize that the contact play last night was the right move right? There's no outs and David Freese hits a ground ball to third with runners on the corner. Would you rather have first and second one out of runner on third with two outs? It's a no brainer.

I wasn't able to watch the game but my guess is the reason we lost is we didn't capitalize on a lead off double in the ninth. I don't want to sound like an old dude but when I was growing up (early 80's), it seemed that fundamentals were better and it seemed like that run would score much more often.

There were some amazing opportunities for Hamilton to bunt last night with the shift being very exaggerated against him.  Why Is he not bunting to at least make the opponents have some doubts about using the shift against him?  Can Hamilton bunt?  The four strikeouts by Iannetta did not help either.

I understand they are up against a great pitching staff but that's not really what I was getting at. The offense looked horrible regardless of who was on the mound. Some of the ABs were just down right comical. You could have out any pitching staff against the Angels the last two games and probably get the same result. They just didn't look very dialed in at all.
